Divergent by Veronica Roth

First off, I got some major Maze Runner and Hunger Games vibes. Set in the future, in a dystopian version of Chicago, there are five factions: Amity, who value kindness above all else; Candor, who are always truthful; Erudite, who constantly seek knowledge; Abnegation, who are selfless to a fault; and Dauntless, who are constantly seeking thrills. Beatrice Prior was born into Abnegation, but she’s not sure that’s where she belongs. So when she takes the Aptitude test to see which faction she’s cut out for, the results are shocking. They are inconclusive, which means Beatrice is Divergent; someone who has the aptitude for three different factions. Apparently being Divergent is highly dangerous. Beatrice’s results are Abnegation, Dauntless, and Erudite. Not choosing Abnegation means leaving her family…forever. But she knows that is not where she belongs, so she chooses Dauntless, and shortens her names to Tris. Tris meets all kinds of interesting people in Dauntless, but it’s grueling work. Then she discovers a plot that could unravel society. Can she warn someone, before it’s to late?
