This was pretty good. It reshapes Disney’s Tangled into a darker (and in my opinion better) story. It’s also part of the Twisted Tales series like Conceal Don’t Feel. Rapunzel has lived in a tower with Mother Gothel for nineteen years, because her powers are dangerous, and her hair can kill people. But one day she sees a man hide a crown in a tree. So she leaves her tower in search of that man, Flynn Rider, so he can take her to see the floating lights. Along the way, she meets witches, mercenaries, and a brave adventurer named Gina. But someone has decided to auction off Rapunzel and her powers…and a lot of dangerous people want those powers for themself. Rapunzel, Gina, and Flynn make their way across the kingdom, narrowly avoiding threats (and sometimes not avoiding them), and uncovering the secrets of Rapunzel’s hair. If you like fractured fairy tales, you should read this.
