T.J. Powar Has Something to Prove by Jesmeen Kaur Deo

This book has a good storyline, but it’s written in present tense and third person, which I really don’t like, so it’s not my favorite. TJ is pretty, popular, and generally well liked. But then a meme gets posted, with her being the “expectation” of dating Indian girls, and her cousin who doesn’t remove her body hair being the “reality”. TJ is furious, and she decides to stop shaving and waxing to prove a point. But then her boyfriend seems disgusted by her body hair. TJ tries to prove that she can be hairy and beautiful, but everyone at her school, including her boyfriend and best friend seem to think otherwise. TJ learns that to prove to others that she is beautiful, she has to believe it too. Again, great plot, but it kinda fell short.
