Rain Rising by Courtne Comrie

This was a lot better than I expected. Also heavier than I expected. Rain is struggling with her body, and depression, and all those bad things. The only thing that makes it better is her brother Xander. But when X almost gets killed by a bunch of white boys at a party, Rain doesn’t know what to do. Her big brother that she’s relied on her whole life is seemingly…gone. He doesn’t leave his room, he barely talks. It scares Rain. But then she gets invited to a support group. Maybe that’ll help her? And it does, for a little while. But then it gets worse. Way worse. Can Rain pull through and help herself and her family? Also, I forgot to mention, but it’s told in verse.
