This is actually a really good book. Better than I expected. Evangeline Fox is heartbroken. The boy she believes is her true love is marrying her stepsister. So Evangeline prays to the Prince of Hearts, a magical Fate who turns out to be charming, wicked, and dangerously addictive. He agrees to stop the wedding as long as she pledges to kiss three people of his choosing. Evangeline agrees, but quickly regrets it when things go wrong and end with the entire wedding turned to stone. Six months later, Evangeline is invited to the magnificent North, where she once again meets the Prince of Hearts, and he plans to cash in on one of the kisses she owes him. Evangeline soon realizes that striking a deal with an immortal being is never a good idea, and the Prince of Hearts has more planned for her than just kissing three people. Fair warning, this series is connected to the Caraval series by the same author, but I didn’t realize that until finishing this. I don’t think you have to read Caraval before reading this, but it is recommended. Anyway, happy reading!
