Normally I wouldn’t read this, as it’s lower on the middle grade spectrum than I usually read, but I will be interviewing the amazing Polly Holyoke, author of Skyriders and The Neptune Project soon, so keep an eye out for that! Now, on to the book. Kie is happy delivering the mail alongside her trusty skysteed, N’Rah, but when an ancient enemy surfaces, Kie finds her entire world turned upside down. Kie’s uncle seems to be the only person alive who knows how to defeat the deadly chimerae. When Kie’s uncle is injured, Kie agrees to bring his information about the chimerae to the emperor. Unfortunately, not many people listen to Kie. With the help of a friend from home and the prince, Kie must convince everyone that the old ways of fighting chimerae are more effective…before it’s too late. I really enjoyed this!
