Breathing Underwater by Abbey Lee Nash

First off, I am absolutely in love with this cover. Seriously, it’s so beautiful. The one thing I didn’t like about this book was the romance. It felt very rushed and could’ve been much better. Tess has always known she’s going to become a professional swimmer, and get into a prestigious college on a swimming scholarship. Now, Nationals is coming up, and Tess and her team are training hard to be ready. But then Tess has a seizure in the water and nearly drowns. Now everyone is wary of her getting back in the water, and she gets stuck working behind a counter, handing out popsicles to kids, instead of lifeguarding. The new lifeguard who’s taken her place is annoyingly cute, and funny. To make matters worse, while Tess is out at doctor’s appointments, she has to miss numerous swim practices. Tess struggles to handle the stress of her new epilepsy diagnosis along with the pressure of Nationals looming. This is a pretty quick read, and really a good book as well.
