So, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this, but I didn’t hate it, and I think I’ll continue with the series. Just remember to keep in mind, there are some things in this book that haven’t aged well, given it was released in 2011. Juliette has been locked away for 264 days. She’s never known why she has the power to kill someone with a brush of her fingers. Then one day, she gets a roommate in her prison cell. A boy, who at first she can’t stand, but then…maybe this boy could be a friend. But Juliette’s newfound friendship doesn’t last long. She is released from her prison, only to be dragged right into the clutches of the Reestablishment, the government who said they would fix this broken world where the birds don’t fly and the clouds are the wrong color. Even worse is the man in charge, a calculating and cruel person named Warner. Warner wants Juliette to be a weapon, and he doesn’t care if she agrees. Again, this wasn’t the worst, not the best either. Three stars from me.
