First off, this cover is everything. I love it so much. This is written in a mix of prose and verse, which was really interesting. Set in the near future where climate change has ravaged the earth, Juli mourns her twin sister Ofe, who passed away the year before. Juli makes a promise to herself and to Ofe, that this is the year she gets out. Her plan is to leave Florida, her home state, but then she gets recruited by Cometa, a private space program for New American teenagers. The purpose of the program is to build a human civilization on the moon. As Juli begins her Cometa training, her list of reasons to leave earth is much longer than her list of reasons to stay. But her senior year is full of surprises, even without Ofe there with her. First love, friendships, and roller skating are a few of the reasons to stay. Will Juli remain on her planet, and stay with her community, or will she leave, and build a new community on the moon? Honestly, my review doesn’t do this book justice, but it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read.
