I had fairly low expectations for this, but I ended up really liking it. Four teenagers from all different backgrounds receive invitations to the most prestigious boarding school in the world, with an added twist, the four of them will compete to be the next ruler of the kingdom of Ashland. Three of them, Titus, Alaric, and Emmeline are cousins who were sent away sixteen years ago. The fourth is a wildcard, Sadie, who will bring new blood to the throne if she wins. All four of them will do anything it takes to win, including betraying each other numerous times. Filled with competition, back-stabbing, and rivals-to-lovers romance. Honestly, all the characters in this book were so manipulative, it was crazy. I can definitely see myself rereading this in the future.
