It took a bit to get into, but an overall great read. Claire’s sister, Sophie, has always been the brave one. When she had an unnameable illness. When they moved. Sophie collects ‘Experiences’, like directing a school play, exploring the amazon (actually a ditch), and more! Claire just follows along. When they find a ladder in the fireplace—and obviously climb it—it doesn’t end on the roof, and then a shadow monster attacks them! They get away—barely. Then Sophie disappears. Claire must go back to the fireplace world (they later find out that the world is called Arden) to find her. She meets Nett and Sena. Nett is really nice, Sena is…not. Claire, Nett, and Sena must go on a harrowing adventure not just to save Sophie, but to save all of Arden from falling into war. Hope you enjoy!
