Even though I am homeschooled, I know that the problems in this book are real ones. This was…kinda sad, because I wish the author didn’t have to write about it, how girls are treated as less than. It’s pretty religious, which I am not, but I loved this book all the same. Eve Hoffman hides in baggy clothes, Sophie Kane is very popular, and Nessa Flores-Brady is a great actor who doesn’t care what people think about her. These three must band together when a list of the 50 prettiest girls in the 8th grade comes out, hurting a lot of people. Eve is number one on the list, Sophie is number two, Nessa isn’t on it at all. Eve hates all the attention she’s suddenly getting about her clothes and her body. Sophie is furious that she isn’t number one. Nessa pretends she doesn’t care, but maybe she does. The girls try to reveal whoever wrote the list, but do they know the real culprit? This is something girls AND boys should read.
Have I told you that you’re amazing?😻

I’m so impressed with your reviews. (This is Barbara next door.). I read what you wrote about The Hunger Games, and now with The Prettiest. I saw The Hunger Games movies but forgot they were actually based on a series of books. This book, The Prettiest, sounds like it has very interesting characters. I’m pretty old, and high school was a long time ago for me, but I think I’d like to read about these girls when I finish my current book. Thanks for telling me about it. Barbara E.

I agree. I wish this was not a problem in our world. there are so many amazing people out there who are put thru this kind of stuff. body image is the biggest one. knowing that there are people out there, trying to help put these issues in the light, it makes a big difference.
