Amina’s Voice by Hena Khan

Beautiful. This book was beautiful. A Pakistani-American girl named Amina longs to be brave enough to sing for a crowd, but as hard as she tries, she can’t overcome her fear. With an oncoming singing competition that her parents signed her up for, she has the stress of that, friend-troubles, and the tragedy of the hate-crime committed at her church. All her friends try to convince her that she should sing, but she just can’t. Amina is exited for her Korean friend Soojin, who is having her swearing-in to become a full citizen of America, but when Amina accidentally spoils things with Soojin, they stop talking. This is an amazing story. Please read this.
