365 Days To Alaska by Cathy Carr

Pretty good, I finished it in less than 24 hours, so it’s a quick read, at least for me. Rigel lives in Alaska, and she likes it. But when her parents get a divorce, Rigel, her sisters, and her mom are going to move to Connecticut. Right after Rigel receives this news, she makes a secret deal with her father: if she can live in Connecticut for one year, then her father’ll bring her home to Alaska. Rigel hates Connecticut. There’s no real nature there and the store-bought meat tastes nothing like the meat she hunted in Alaska. She hates the school too, until…she meets a crow. The crow hangs out behind the school and has a strange white marking. The crow starts growing on Rigel, she sees it every day, she feeds it, the crow is her friend. She also has a human friend named Julie, but Julie starts sucking up to the popular girls at school. Rigel and Julie ignore each other after that. This is a great Home-Is-Where-The-Heart-Is story. Enjoy!
