Aru Shah And The End Of Time by Roshani Chokshi

This was absolutely awesome! Aru Shah lives in a museum. Well, above a museum. At school, she lies to be popular, to fit in. When three of her classmates show up at the museum, telling her to prove some of those lies. Like that she has a magic lamp, and if she lights it, The Sleeper will come and try to wake Shiva, the lord of destruction. So of course, Aru lights the lamp. Her classmates—and her mother—all freeze in place. A talking pigeon comes out of the elephant statue at the museum and tells Aru that he’ll help her. He leads Aru through the elephant and to a girl named Mini’s house. Mini’s family is frozen too. Mini and Aru must go on a quest to save the world before The Sleeper can wake Shiva. This kinda reminds me of The Serpent’s Secret by Sayantani Dusgupta, since they both have Indian mythology. A must-read for any mythology fans like me!
