Focused by Alyson Gerber

I loved this SO much. This book talks about real problems people face. Clea can’t focus at all. She gets distracted by people breathing to loudly and chewing gum. It starts to be a problem, not just with school, but with chess and friends too. She blurts things out and gets annoyed easily. When she fails one to many tests, her parents get her tested for ADHD. Clea thinks there must be some mistake. She can’t have ADHD! But she does. It’s hard for her to be supportive of her friends and her little sister Henley while she’s going through so much. Then she accidentally blurts out her best friend, Red’s biggest secret. Red says he doesn’t want to be friends with Clea anymore. He refuses to acknowledge that she exists. Her other best friend, Sanam, keeps telling Clea that things will get better. Sanam has dyslexia, so she knows what it’s like to struggle. Clea hopes she can fix things with Red, cope with school and chess, and deal with ADHD. Can she handle it? An amazing book that anyone should read.
