Amari And The Night Brothers by B. B. Alston

This was amazing. So awesome. I might have a new favorite book. Amari’s brother, Quinton, disappeared six months ago, and everyone thinks he’s dead, but Amari refuses to give up. Then she finds a mysterious briefcase in Quinton’s closet. Apparently Quinton was part of The Bureau of Supernatural Investigations, and he’s nominated her for the summer camp they offer. Every kid at the summer camp must awaken their dormant magic and Amari’s magic is…she’s a magician, and magicians are very bad. Almost everyone at the Bureau is scared of her, and Amari hates that. To make matters worse, there’s a rogue magician on the loose. This magician is supposedly Moreau’s apprentice. Moreau is one of the Night Brothers, two ancient magicians who were feared by all. One of them, Vladimir, is long dead, but Moreau is still alive. Yes, he’s in an impenetrable prison, but he’s alive. A lot of people suspect Amari of being his apprentice. Moreau’s apprentice kidnapped Quinton and Maria Van Helsing, Quinton’s partner. Both of them were very important agents at the Bureau. Amari teams up with Elsie, a weredragon who happens to be Amari’s roommate, and Dylan Van Helsing, Maria’s younger brother, to find out how to get Quinton and Maria back. Can Amari find Moreau’s apprentice and stop them before it’s too late?
