Super great book! Emmeline can control shadows. She can manipulate them and mold them into different shapes. Her best friend is her own shadow, Dar. Emmeline’s parents hate her powers, so they try to send her away with someone who can supposedly “cure” her. So Emmeline and Dar flee. They escape into the woods, and find a boy who has magic too. The boy, Lucas, and his family are in hiding from the very people Emmeline ran from. Emmeline and Lucas are quick friends, but Dar seems to dislike Lucas and his family, and Emmeline has no idea why. Could Dar be up to something sinister?
