Long Live the Pumpkin Queen by Shea Ernshaw

This book is so good. It’s the official sequel to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. You should probably watch the movie to understand this. Sally loves Jack, the pumpkin king, with all her heart, but now that the two are married, she isn’t loving the queenly title that comes with it. So, fed up with being fussed over and told to wear a crown, she runs away. But in the forest, she finds a new tree. A new tree with a new door. She doesn’t venture in, but something else might have come out. When Sally returns to Halloween Town, everyone is…asleep. And coated in sand. Sally doesn’t know what to think. Her first idea is to just let them sleep, but then she realizes, there is a monster in Halloween Town—and it’s coming for her. Sally (with a little help from Zero the ghost dog) must travel to all the holidays to figure out to stop it. Will she succeed, or will everyone be stuck in a dreamless sleep…forever?
